Last Updated 06 March 2014, 20:26 IST

Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia’s car was attacked by unidentified men on Himmatnagar highway in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat on Thursday. The party alleged that the attackers were BJP workers.

“Some unidentified men threw stones at Manish Sisodia’s car on Himmatnagar highway,” AAP Gujarat spokesperson Harshil Nayak said , while Sisodia tweeted, “Our car was attacked by BJP goons in Himmatnagar.”

However, Sabarkantha SP Chirag Koriadia said: “His (Sisodia) car was not stopped by anybody, it seems that there was no attack. What Sisodia claims is somebody threw stones from behind, we are investigating it”.

On Wednesday, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s car was attacked by BJP workers in Kutch district. Kejriwal and other AAP leaders are touring the state to “verify” Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s claims of development.

The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday said Kejriwal had violated the model code of conduct during his visit to Gujarat on Wednesday.

Also, an FIR was also lodged against Kejriwal for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by using loudspeaker at a rally in Gandhidham in Kutch district of Gujarat on Thursday.

“Kejriwal addressed a rally today (Thursday) at Rishabh Circle of Gandhidham where he used loudspeaker without the EC’s permission. This is a breach of the model code of conduct, so we lodged an FIR,” SP Dipak Meghani said.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have registered a case over Wednesday’s violent clash between AAP and BJP workers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

It names Ashutosh, AAP Lok Sabha candidate from Chandni Chowk, and Shazia Ilmi, a member of the AAP’s national executive.
