Rly minister visits New Delhi station

Union Railway minister Pawan Bansal paid a surprise visit to the New Delhi railway station on Friday night and inspected amenities for passengers.

The minister took stock of the rush of passengers and reviewed the arrangements made to tackle the demand for trains. “The aim of visit was to take stock of the various arrangements at the station. More steps will be taken in future to improve the facilities at the station,” Bansal said.  The minister also reviewed security arrangements, functioning of booking and enquiry counters and catering arrangements. He visited all the three foot over bridges at the station. New Delhi station caters to  about five lakh passengers daily.
