Women residents of Chaluvanahalli took Namma Congress candidate and sitting MLA Varthur Prakash to task when he visited the village for campaigning on Saturday.

The women stopped Prakash's car at the entrance of the village and questioned, "You have won the last two electinos. But what have to done for the development of the village in the last ten years."

They said, "Our village does not have drinking water supply. There is no proper road either. We don't have houses too. You visited our village during the previous selection. Now, you have remembered us during this election."

The women said they have elected him as their MLA and he has provided facilities to those who are close to him. "When no one is caring for us, why should we vote? You don't respond to our problems. We can't educate our children," they told him.

Prakash greeted them with folded hands and left the place with his supporters.

Prakash is facing public ire at all the places he is visiting. On May 2, the residents of Gandhinagar in Kolar did not allow him to campaign and he had to return emptyhanded. On May 4, the residents of Ward Number 4 had staged a black badge protest against him and opposed his entry into the area.
