The attempts to recreate history will lead to dangerous consequences, said Prof P L Dharma, Chairman of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mangalore University.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating a university-level seminar on the premises of Government First Grade College here, on Wednesday. The seminar was jointly organised by the Department of Political Science of Government First Grade College and Mangalore University Political Science Alumni Association.

The sixth anniversary of ‘Belaku’, wall magazine of the college, was also celebrated on the occasion. Prof Dharma said the unrest prevailing in society was a result of distortion of History. “This will also lead to communal tensions.”

“History is a serious affair,” he said and advised students to strive for good and credible results.

College Principal Dr T K Bopaiah presided over the programme. Head of the Department of Political Science Prof R Divya, Assistant Professor M P Divya and Seminar Convener Vanit Kumar were present.
