BMW launches 3 Series sedans starting at Rs 41.4 lakh

BMW India on Wednesday launched the seventh generation 3 Series here.

The new models launched were the 320d Sport at Rs 41.4 lakh, the 320d Luxury Line at Rs 46.9 lakh and the 330i M Sport at Rs 47.9 lakh, all ex-showroom. There are petrol and diesel options, with former being available with the upcoming BS6 emission norms.

The Sport and Luxury Line are diesel variants, while the M Sport is the petrol version.

The two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine of the BMW 330i will put out produces an output of 258hp and maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,550 – 4,400 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 -100 Kmph in 5.8 seconds. The two-litre four-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW320d produces an output of 190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 -100 Kmph in just 6.8 seconds.

BMW India President and CEO Rudratej Singh said: “Customers are changing and we will change according to the needs of our customers.”

The 3 Series is being assembled at the BMW Group plant in Chennai.

The seventh-generation cars are lighter by 55 Kg, some blind spots have been removed, there is more head space and leg space at the rear, wireless charging, gesture control for several functions and also has the Virtual Assistant for voice commands.

One of the most interesting features that the 3 Series has is the Reversing Assistant, which keeps a record of the last 50 metres driven and also takes over the steering.

The 3 Series will be available in Alpine White (non-metallic) and Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey and Mediterranean Blue metallic body colours.

The 3 Series will be available with financial plans from BMW India Financial Services and there are assured buy-back value up to Rs 23 lakh and flexible end of term options.

BMW is also offering a Condition Based Service and maintenance with choice of plans from 3 years and 40,000 Km to 10 years and 200,000 Km.
