‘Most Indian workers are changing employers, or planning to’

Bengaluru: About 82 per cent of workers in India are considering changing employers in 2025, according to a survey-based report by professional services firm Aon out on Wednesday.

They are either in the process of moving employers or might seek new employment in the next 12 months. This outweighs the 60 per cent of employees across the globe who are considering shifting jobs.

The top characteristic that employees care about is better than average pay and meaningful benefits (which 46 per cent value).

Employees in India also showed a commitment to improving their AI skill set (43 per cent).

In terms of benefits, work-life balance topped the list as most important. Medical coverage was another one of the highest valued benefits. Career development, paid time off, and retirement savings were also considered important by Indian workers.

Benefits were given so much weightage that 76 per cent of employees said they would be willing to sacrifice existing benefits for a better choice of benefits.

The study is based on a survey on 9,000 employees globally, with 510 from India. It spanned industries including financial institutions, healthcare services, and technology and communications.
