Christmas Souharda Sambhram held in school

To spread love and peace among different religions St Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia, Hebich Church Gorigudda, and Christmas Souharda Committee Gorigudda organised Christmas Souharda Sambhram near UBMC School Gorigudda on Friday evening.

Bishop Rev Dr Fr Peter Paul Saldanha, Swami Ekagamyananda of Ramkrishna mutt and Mohammed Kunhi, manager of Shanthi Prakashana were the guests.

Hebich Church Head Goldin Bangera said, “Christmas is the right time to spread joy, peace and harmony.”

Mohammed Kunhi addressing the gathering declared that all are equal in this country. “We need to live together and should spread a message of love and peace. All the people should be treated equally and hatred should not exist in the society. Only if we live together we can spread smiles,” he stressed

Special day

Swami Ekagamyananda said, “This is a special day in my life after coming to Mangaluru. For I this is my first opportunity to participate in Christmas celebrations with leaders from different religions.”

He stressed on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda on religion and also Ramkrishna mission which is promoting clean Mangaluru. Bishop Rev Fr Peter Paul while conveying his message said, “Everyone should work on building the society with peace, love and harmony. All should fill their minds with moral values.” He urged everyone to maintain peace every time.”

The entry of Santa Claus left the crowd thrilled. Youth of Hebich church entertained the crowd with Christmas carols and the kids danced to the beats of carols. People from Valencia church performed a skit on birth of Jesus and sang Christmas carols.
