21-year-old kills self after sending suicide threat to friend

A 21-year-old man committed suicide on Thursday after his friend ignored his suicide threats, sent via messages.

The victim, Kevin Frederic, was a student of hotel management in a private college, and a resident of Thimmaiah Road near Bharathi Nagar.

According to a senior police officer, prior to committing suicide, Frederic had exchanged a series of messages with his woman friend. Upset over an issue, Frederic threatened to commit suicide in one of his messages.

Frederic sent her photographs of a rope tied to a ceiling fan in his room. When she did not respond, he took the extreme step.

The police recovered his mobile from the spot and retrieved the messages.
