A 27-year-old mechanic was killed on the spot after meeting with an accident on Thursday night.
According to the police, the deceased—Sharukh Baig, a resident of Aditya Nagar in Vidyaranyapura— was returning home and riding rashly on a stretch filled with potholes. Baig’s bike neither had a headlight nor was he wearing a helmet. The police said that he might have lost control and crashed on the road after hitting the median stone on the Singapura Main Road in Yelahanka.
Baig sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
