Bangalore University inks MoU with art institute

Bangalore University on Saturday signed a MoU with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts to develop a research and training programme for mutual use.

BU vice-chancellor Venugopal K R told DH: “IGNCA is the top leading centre in cultural research. The memorandum aims to preserve our old scripts of languages like Kannada, Hindi, English, Sanskrit and others.” He said the two institutions would hold joint research activities on a mutual and reciprocal basis, while also exchanging teachers, PhD research scholars and PG students.

An autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, IGNCA is an academic and cultural research institution for those studying art from a holistic perspective. “There will be faculty research and collaborative research projects by both the institutions,” the V-C added.
