Bar council polls set aside

The election tribunal has set aside the elections to the Karnataka State Bar Council.

The KSBC polls, held recently, were marred by allegations of malpractice even before the votes could be counted. The polls were held to choose 25 members across Karnataka. Two petitions were filed before the poll tribunal, New Delhi, which stayed the counting of ballot papers earlier. On Tuesday, it cancelled the election.

Advocate Durgaprasad, in his complaint, had alleged illegal practices and tampering of ballots during the elections.
