A 21-year-old cab driver has complained to the police that a scooterist robbed him in southern Bengaluru on March 20.

Jagadeesh M picked up a passenger from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and dropped him off at Golden Park apartment in Devarachikkanahalli around 10.10 pm.

Meanwhile, he received another booking and went to pick up the passenger from an area nearby. Around 10.15 pm, a scooterist stopped his cab, and before Jagadeesh could sense the situation, barged in and threatened him with a machete.

The scooterist robbed Jagadeesh of Rs 15,000 in cash and a mobile phone worth Rs 14,000, and rode off.

Jagadeesh told the police that he was so frightened by the incident that he presumed the scooterist would attack him if he filed a complaint. He, however, chose to file a complaint after discussing the matter with family and friends. He filed the complaint on March 29.

Begur police have taken up a case of robbery and are investigating.
