Bike rider hits footpath, killed

A 25-year-old motorcycle rider was killed on the spot after his vehicle hit a footpath near Yemaluru junction in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim, Srikanth, was an employee of a private firm and a resident of Kadugodi, the police said.

The accident took place around 1 am when Srikanth was returning home after meeting his friend. When he reached Borewell bus stop near the Yemaluru junction, he lost control over his bike and it hit the pavement. As a result, he fell to the ground and sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot, the police said.

The police shifted the body to the Bowring Hospital for the post-mortem.

The HAL traffic police have registered a case and are investigating further.
