Boy killed after hot sambar falls on him

A four-year-old was killed in Jayanagar 4th block on Wednesday evening after hot sambar fell on him.

The deceased boy, Vivek, was the son of Asha, a domestic help, and Suresh, who works in a juice shop. The family, originally natives of Shivamogga, had moved to the city a few years ago, the police said.

The Tilak Nagar police said the incident took place when Vivek was having dinner on Wednesday. His mother had left him by himself for a while, when he pulled the sambar pot that was kept on the stove, and the hot liquid fell on his chest.

Asha came back to the kitchen upon hearing him scream. Although he was rushed to Victoria hospital, he succumbed to the injuries in the early hours of Thursday.
