Hearing a transit bail plea by Jayamala, Justice N Anand has ordered the notice. Jayamala had sought bail till necessary arrangement is made to approach the jurisdiction court in Kerala.
Contending that she is innocent and has not committed any offence, she submitted that even if it is assumed that she has committed some offence, the same is barred by limitation. “There is no law passed by legislation barring women from entering any temple or public place,” she stated.
She submitted that even if it is assumed that such law existed, the same is violative of Constitution of India as much as it amounts to gender discrimination. Justice N Anand, who heard the matter, has ordered emergent notice to Kerala State police and others. The matter has been adjourned.
