HC reserves order on plea for CBI probe in Ajitabh case

The High Court of Karnataka has reserved its order on a petition seeking directions to the state government to hand over the case of missing techie Kumar Ajitabh to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Justice Aravind Kumar was hearing a petition filed by Ashok Kumar Sinha, father of Ajitabh, seeking handing over the case to the CBI as there has been no development in the case for the last eight months.

The state government submitted to the court that handing over the case to the CBI will delay the process as the CBI will need a couple of months to complete the investigation where in precious time will be consumed.

The additional advocate general submitted that the Crime Investigation Department has done a good job with regard to the investigation.

Ajitabh Kumar, a city-based software engineer went missing from the city when he left home after receiving a call from a prospective buyer for his car for which he had advertised on the online marketplace on December 18, 2017.
