For, the BBMP has mandated to collect these vital informations from property owners to identify commercial and industrial usage of properties.
BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah said: “It has come to light that there are many commercial and industrial establishments, which are functioning on residential properties in the City.
They enjoy benefits given exclusively to residential buildings but use them to run businesses. They are operating illegally and they do not pay the commercial tax to the BBMP.”
The BBMP recently came to know from the electricity connections that there are about six lakh commercial and industrial establishments across the City, while only 10 per cent of them are enrolled with the BBMP.
