Miscreants strike at banks

The burglars rummaged through the building but could not break into the strong room to get to the cash.

SBM branch Manager Anand Rao filed a complaint on Monday morning with the Yeswantpur police.

In another incident, the Canara Bank branch in Varathur was targeted by culprits who too could not get to the cash from the strong room, the police said.

Assets seized

The City police have recovered cars, bikes, laptops of different companies and mobile phones from criminals.

Four cars, two bikes, 17 laptops, 20 mobile phones and 119 grams of gold jewellery were recovered from nine persons arrested by the police from different parts of Bangalore on charges of theft.

Vellore gang held

In another case, Hulimavu police have arrested a four-member gang and recovered two Bajaj Pulsars, 13 laptops of different make and 20 mobile phones.

Suleiman (22), Syed Basha alias Kuttiba (33), Shamshuddin (29) and Rizwan (26), all hailing from Vellore district in Tamil Nadu, who had committed thefts in stations including Bannerghatta Road, Arikere, Mico Layout, Vysa Bank Colony, M S Ramaiah City and Sai Enclave, would gain entry into the houses through windows.

Jewellery, cash recovered

The HAL police have arrested Jayaram (26) from T Narsipura Taluk and recovered Rs jewellery worth Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 5,000 in cash.

Jayaram was wanted in cases under the police station limits of Subramanyanagar, HAL, J P Nagar and HSR Layout.

Burglars arrested

The Ulsoor Gate police have arrested two alleged burglars, Hemant Kumar (26) from Kormangala and Sai Prasad (19) from Banashankari and recovered four cars along with car stereos and amplifiers.

The thieves were wanted in cases filed under R T Nagar, Yelahanaka, Mico Layout and Subramanayanagar police station limits.

Laptops, cash seized

 The City police have arrested Nagraju (30) from Sultanpalya and Siddaraju(27), and recovered four laptops worth Rs 3 lakh from them. The two originally hailed from Mandya district.
