People of Rajarajeshwari Nagar were annoyed by what they termed the cavalier attitude of BBMP officials. Complaints about officials’ inaction kept pouring in all through the event.

Dr Bindu Srinivas, a resident of the locality said, “None of the BBMP officials responds immediately to the queries of the citizens. They are always busy with their mobile phones. I ran from pillar to post for over two years to get a khata of my site and house. But to date, I could not do so. I sat in front of the BBMP office in protest. Once I had even taken four days’ leave from work just get this work done. Yet, there is no breakthrough.” Corporator from Jnanabharati ward D G Tejaswini requested to meet her in the office. “I request you to visit my office and I will get your work done,” she assured.

Lashing out at the officials, MLA Munirathna said, “Be it bureaucrats or politicians, they are meant for public service. None of the citizens should be made to run from pillar to post for their work. If you (officials) prefer to work by sitting at just one place, better look out for another job.” In response to complaints that Bescom offices are running out of LED bulb stocks, Munirathna promised to provide bulbs from October 10 in all the Bescom offices across the constituency.
