Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said he had no plan to give any government posting to Infosys founder N R Narayana Murthy.

He said it was unlikely that Murthy would be part of the government machinery, owing to his age.

Kumaraswamy’s meeting with the 71-year-old Murthy soon after he took over as chief minister had led to speculations that the septuagenarian might assume an administrative responsibility in the coalition government. It was also reported that Kumaraswamy had appointed Murthy as the chairperson of the state planning commission.

Kumaraswamy, however, told reporters that the government was willing to take his suggestions and guidance on improving the infrastructure in Bengaluru.

The chief minister hinted he was not very keen on setting up an expert group(s) for Bengaluru.

“I have already scrapped the Bengaluru Vision Group. Experts and concerned citizens are free to give their opinion and feedback for the development of Bengaluru. The government will deliberate and take a call on setting up expert groups for the city,” he added.
