In order to improve its services, the railways has roped in NCC cadets and Scouts-Guides to obtain independent third party feedback from passengers across the country.

The Ministry of Railways on Monday has written to its general managers across the country to rope in NCC cadets and Scouts-Guides to carry out surveys as volunteers.

The move according to officials is to improve the quality of railway services.

According to a circular by Vivek Srivastava, executive director public grievances at the railway board, a copy of which is with DH, zonal railway officials have been directed to devise tools to generate feedback by utilising alternate means.

“The zonal officials may consider utilising the services of NCC cadets and Scouts-Guides on a voluntary basis to gauge the actual service delivery standards, measuring them up against laid down norms.

The ministry has also directed to engage volunteers from NSS and interns to collect feedback. The collected data should be collated and analysed to generate actionable policies for the benefit of railway users,” the circular stated.
