The Bangalore division of South Western Railway celebrated the 59th Railway Week here on Friday by felicitating 168 railway personnel of Bangalore division for their work during the year 2013-14.
Speaking at the event, Anil Kumar Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, appreciated the efforts of the staff in increasing the earnings of the division and, called for improvement in the sector.
‘Railway Week’ is celebrated every year in the memory of the first-ever train run in India between Mumbai and Thane, a length of 21 miles on April 16, 1853.
