Science Express to inspire schoolchildren

The Science Express-Biodiversity Special (SEBS) train arrived at the Whitefield Railway station in the City on Monday.

The science express is an innovative and an unique science exhibition focusing on biodiversity and climatic change mounted on 16 coaches AC train.

Anil Kumar Agarwal, South Western Railway Divisional Railway Manager—Bangalore Division, welcomed the train which will in this phase travel to 57 locations across India.
The train covers all aspects of environment, biodiversity, waste management and self explaining scientific concepts.

The train will be stationed for public view between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm for four days from November 10 to 13 at the Whitefield Railway Station. Entry is free for public.
Schoolchildren along with their teachers made a beeline to the science express on the first day itself. Railway officials said that in the next three days besides schoolchildren, public too will be visiting the train.

Agarwal said it was a wonderful effort to take science to common man.  Besides other things, the SEBS showcases the theme of saving environment and the exhibition leaves a lasting impression on biodiversity among the students, he added.
To simplify and make the visitors understand the concepts of Science, experts are on board the train to explain the nuances of science to the visitors. It has travelled 1,13,861 km across the country in its previous phases with over 1.20 crore people visiting the train in 1,295 exhibition days at 363 halts.
