The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested a BWSSB meter reader of Kodichikkanahalli service station in BTM Layout while accepting a bribe from a person.
According to the complainant, a BWSSB contractor on behalf his client (private building owner) had approached the meter reader, Umesh, at Kodichikkanahalli service station to check non-functioning of water meter in his newly constructed building.
However, Umesh demanded Rs 5,000 bribe to look into the matter.
He then filed a complaint with the ACB, who laid a trap and nabbed Umesh red-handed while accepting bribe amount of Rs 5,000 from the complainant.
