Wife stabs rowdy husband to death with friend's help

A woman and her friend were arrested for killing her 34-year-old husband in LR Nagar near Adugodi on Friday.

The police said Edwin, a history-sheeter in Adugodi police station, was torturing his wife Sujatha every day. Unable to bear it, she killed him on Thursday night by stabbing him in his stomach with help from her neighbour and friend Sridhar. Edwin, who faced several cases of dacoity, murder and attempt to murder, was forcing Sujatha to flee with him to Chennai since he feared arrest.

Edwin left the city and was staying in Chennai. He had left his wife at her parents' house.

Meanwhile, Sridhar, a daily wager, shifted to a rented house in LR Nagar six months ago and got close to Sujatha.

On Thursday night, Edwin came to the city and started forcing Sujatha to accompany him to Chennai. A quarrel ensued after she refused.

Sridhar who had dropped in at Sujatha's house then stabbed Edwin with her help. Edwin died due to excessive bleeding, the suspects said in their statement to the police. Sujatha often spoke about Edwin's torture to Sridhar who was waiting for a chance to kill him. Sridhar had even bought a knife to kill him.
