Speaking after inaugurating the vaccination programme for Haj pilgrims organised by Karnataka State Haj Committee at Yenepoya Hospital, he said that for every Muslim community member, it is a dream to visit Haj at least once in their lifetime.

“A great number of Muslims are not being able to go to Haj for various reasons, while on the other hand there are people who visit Haj more than once. So in order to pave way for the less fortune ones, those who have visited Haj once or twice should avoid visiting again,” he requested and added that a lot of facilities are provided by the State and Central government for the benefit of Haj pilgrims.

With the provision of flight service, vaccination camp and training camps, it has been much easier for devotees to go for pilgrimage, he said.

Mayor Rajani Dugganna wished all the community members who had gathered, for a safe and happy journey.

Among 2,000 applications that have been received, committee has chosen 535 members from Dakshina Kannada for pilgrimage. All 535 members were vaccinated at Yenepoya Hospital on Monday. The committee has informed that members can receive their vaccination certificate from WAKF office on September 30.

Unlike previous years, a separate vaccination camp will be held for all the pilgrims of Udupi on Monday at Udyavar Hall. Former Vitla MLA Rukmaya Poojari, Yenepoya Hospital MD Abdul Kunhi, Karntaka State Haj Managing Committee Vice-President Ajij Baikampadi were present.
