Exams postponed; holidays from October 15 to 30

Addressing a news conference here, the minister said there would be no examinations from October 1 till October 9. The Dasara holidays in the district would be from October 15 to 30. This rule is applicable for both government and private schools across the district.

Ramdas said the examinations that are scheduled already would now be held after October 10. It was true that exams have already started and it should have been completed before October 6th or 7th. The postponement is necessary to hold ‘Shala Dasara’ which is being held for the first time as well as the state-level ‘Pratibha Karanji’ competitions.

It would be mandatory for all the government and private schools to compulsorily send their pupils to both ‘Shala Dasara’ and ‘Pratibha Karanji’ competitions.

The Dasara committee has chalked out several programmes for the school kids from October 1 and they should take part in them. Thousands of kids from all the districts will be coming to Mysore to participate in 25 competitions to be held in connection with ‘Pratibha Karanji’ .

The minister said he would hold a meeting with officials of Education Department and issue necessary instructions in this regard. A government order regarding holidays, postponement of examinations and re-scheduling of exams would be issued on Wednesday.
