Unearthing tremendous skills

The students not only had a gala time during the fest but also won the hearts of the audience with their commendable performances.

The day-long fest brought to light the inherent talents of the students in various fields of art like dancing, singing, instrumental music and antakshari.

The inaugural dance by the SBMJC, VV Puram dance group, on the theme Srusti, captured the minds of the audiences as it portrayed the unleashing of cosmic elements to create the universe. 

The audience cheered with joy when the stage was set for the contemporary dance event.

The teams mostly consisted of girls, who grooved to instrumental music with a convincing theme.

A team from Mount Carmel College portrayed a fabulous dance with the theme, Stree Yatra, the endless journey of a woman from ancient times till date.

They managed to capture every nuance of a woman’s feelings, the injustice meted out to her and how she has been able to overcome her problems.

The girls of BMS College, who presented a dance number called Dashavataram, stole the thunder with their moves.

Their portrayal of the ten principal avataras of Vishnu garnered appreciation from everyone.

In between the events, the dance fillers performed by the students of Jain College were also entertaining.

The event had the students showcasing their creativity on instruments and classical vocal events provided them an opportunity to exhibit their singing prowess.

The day also witnessed the release of the annual magazine of the Jain College Jainerations by the Department of English. 

The day brought unlimited joy to the young enthusiastic audience and all the participants lived up to the expectations of everyone present.

 The students were in cheerful spirits throughout the day. Finally, Sri Kumaran’s College bagged the overall championship in the festival, which was attended by more than 20 colleges.

The students of SBJMCE were able to clinch the prizes in many events including Desi Gaana, Classical Vocal and Non-Theme Dance.
