Medical Education Minister and also in-charge of Mysore S A Ramdas said in Bangalore on Tuesday Dasara Celebrations Committee will conduct a special programme - ‘Shalegalalli Dasara’ (Dasara celebrations in Schools) in Mysore district between October 5 and 14.
Special competitions will be conducted for children at school, cluster and district levels during the period. The children will also get a chance to visit zoo, palace and other places as part of the programme.
Gold cards
The minister said the committee has consulted hoteliers of Mysore to offer meals at Rs 20 for visitors during the Dasara festival and 50 hotels have agreed. The district administration has imposed restrictions on sale of gold cards required for entry into main venues of the celebrations.
For the first time bar coding system has been introduced to prevent the misuse of the gold cards, he said.
