Re-exam of ITI paper in 150 centres

The examination will be conducted in 150 centres on October 5. The DGET ordered for re-examination after the question paper of the subject was leaked in Hubli during the examinations held between July 23 and August 2.

Labour minister B N Bache Gowda, on Thursday, told press persons that the department had cancelled the examination in five centres of Hubli. However, DGET ordered for re-examination in all the centres of the state. Despite repeated appeals from the state government to restrict re-examination in five centres of Hubli, the DGET stated that the re-examination should be conducted in all centres.

The minister appealed to the students to appear for the examination on October 5. He also appealed to students not to heed to any rumours in this connection.

As many as 52,167 students will have to take the examinations. Hubli police had been conducting investigation into the leak of question paper in Hubli. Three people were arrested in this connection, the minister said.
