Last Updated 26 June 2009, 17:37 IST

The University had issued certain regulations for the academic year 2009-10 in respect of 5-year integrated course.

The petitioners said that on April 3, the State government notified Karnataka Law University Act, 2009.

The Vice-Chancellor later on called a meeting of principals of all Law colleges in the State at Hubli in the first week of May, where a presentation by Dr Ravindra, Principal of SDM Law College, Mangalore was adopted by the Law University as curriculum without holding any deliberations.

“One cannot take hasty decision in academic matters like curriculum design, course pattern and allotment. This will affect the interest of both the students as well as the lecturers,” the petitioners said.

Justice Mohan Shanthanagoudar, who heard the matter, has ordered the issue of notice to the University.
