The counsel for the independents, K G Raghavan submitted the application to the High Court's Registrar of Judiciary Krishna Bhat, who in turn is expected to submit it to to the Chief Justice J S Khehar at his residence at around 1.30 PM.

The bench yesterday adjourned the hearing of the petition filed by five disqualified independents to October 18 after their counsel sought time to amend the petition in the wake of discrepancies pointed out by the counsels for the government.

The court had reserved the orders for the 11 disqualified BJP MLAs to Monday. Speaker K G Bopaiah had disqualified the five independents, along with 11 dissident BJP MLAs, hours before the vote of confidence on October 11.
