Last Updated 21 October 2010, 16:48 IST

As per the “secure flight programme,” the new official regulations regarding air passenger data for flights to the US, this regulation applies to all international flights to and from the US as well as to flights within America, irrespective of when the booking was made.

Disclosing this new measure, Lufthansa Airlines said in a press release that passengers who fail to provide the necessary secure flight passenger data may be refused boarding by the US authorities.

“Passengers from India planning to travel to the US on or after November 1, 2010, who have already made a booking and are in possession of a ticket that does not include the full data are urgently advised to complete their personal details before departure,” the airline said.

Detailed information about the secure flight programme can be downloaded from the US Transportation Security Administration’s website at www.tsa.gov/secureflight.
