Speaking to media  at the BJP district office at Kadiyali on Monday, he said that the Manthana yielded productive outcome on various issues confronting the State. Focus was laid on the initial discussions, there by trying to bridge the gap between the politicians and bureaucracy.  Attempts were made to wipe out the hurdles in the administrative mechanism. Instead of pondering on the dynamic endeavour made by the government, Opposition is making a fuss out of a non-issue, he ridiculed. The consensus on the transparency in the transfer orders of the government officials is one among many unique decisions adopted in the meet, he informed.

Stating that Opposition leader Siddharamaih holds no power to conduct review meet of the officials since he has to abide by the constitutional restrictions prescribed to his post, he said the leaders in the Opposition party should not cross the limits. Nowhere in the Indian Constitution it is mentioned that the Opposition leader is entitled to the powers similar to that of a Cabinet minister, he said. The State government has visualised many documentary ideas in its efforts to contribute maximum to the 2020 vision. As usual attempts to solve the drinking water problem are the prime priority, Shankaramurthy informed.

Retorting to a query regarding the demand by the KPCC President R V Deshpande for the White Paper on the financial status of the State, he opined it is the right of the Opposition to demand the white paper on the financial transactions held in the State.

The forth coming budget session  is exclusively intended to provide explanations and clarify their doubts, he added. He expressed his ignorance regarding the arrest of Renukacharya, the Honnali MLA for his inflammatory speech during the recent parliamentary polls and added that no one is above the court orders, if someone has committed the offense he should be constrained to judicial probe irrespective of his position, he said.

Earlier inaugurating the “school government” (Shaale sarakara) at the Olakadu Government High School, he called upon the students to develop the sense of responsibility absorbed with the competence to express the accurate thoughts.

Regretting on the absurd education manuals that continue with the same ideas munched by the British people giving absolutely wrong picture on the legacy of the country to the students, Shankaramurthy opined that students themselves should oppose the false ideas propagated by the British on the history of the country. Udupi DDPI  Anand, TP President Gerald Fernandes and others were present.
