He was speaking to mediapersons before inaugurating the ‘Eco Walk’ from Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Tuesday morning.
The minister said increasing number of vehicles in the City was affecting the environment. It was high time people opted for public transport or eco-friendly vehicles. Vehicles must undergo pollution checks regularly. Citizens can also do their bit by promoting greenery within their residential premises, as well as their surroundings.
The Eco Walk began from Kanteerava Stadium and passed through Cubbon Park and returned to the Stadium. Principal Secretary of Transport Department Shankarlinge Gowda, Transport Commissioner Bhaskar Rao and Kannada film actor Tejaswini Prakash were among those who participated.
