Congmen gatecrash women's toilet

Last Updated 02 November 2010, 18:50 IST

Not really, when there is a group of desperate men waiting to hit the restroom, which is in short supply. Around 3,000 Congress leaders, half of whom were women, had come from across the country to attend the All India Congress Committee session held at the Talkatora stadium in the national capital on Tuesday.

Though the stadium, which was refurbished recently to hold sports events during the Commonwealth Games, has a separate enclosure for toilets for both men and women, the Congress party was left red-faced after a toilet problem erupted during the session. As men’s washrooms were close to the VVIP entry gate, the police had closed them for security reasons and barred public from using them.  Now, everybody was left with toilets which were meant for women.

And despite women toilet exclusively reserved for them considering their large number at the session, men gatecrashed it. The men’s adventure to enter the ladies toilet to relieve themselves has not only embarrassed the women, but also forced many of the fairer sex to avoid entering it.

Discomfited with men occupying their premises, a senior Congress woman leader, who holds a top post in the UPA government, was seen shouting at  them when they were queing up to enter the restroom.  But they did not bother to heed her as there was no option left before them.
