Twenty-eight-year-old Anni and her 30-year-old millionaire husband of two weeks Shrien Dewani were returning to their hotel from a nightspot in a taxi on Saturday when two men armed with handguns forced the driver out and drove off with them.
The couple from Bristol were driven for about an hour before the attackers pushed Dewani out and drove off with his wife. The husband was picked up by a passing motorist who took him to a police station.
The car with the woman’s body was found abandoned at a short distance where Dewani was dropped. The body bore gun shot wounds. The couple, who runs a chain of nursing homes, had arrived in Cape Town on Friday.
