Last Updated 19 November 2010, 18:13 IST

Fayaz Pasha and Rasheeda Bhanu met through the latter’s first husband.  Rasheeda Bhanu’s former husband was running a chit fund business and Pasha was among the investors.

Pasha was married to another woman then and had kids from her.  Gradually Pasha developed liking towards Bhanu, a mother of four.

Infatuated

But, Bhanu fell for his overtures. She severed her ties with her husband to enter into wedlock again, ignoring her children. Bhanu was possessing quite a huge amount of cash at that time, according to her relatives.

Spendthrift

Pasha became a spendthrift, borrowing money from his wife promising to return it; but he never did.

Bhanu wanted the money back, and that was the actual reason that triggered animosity among the couple.

In addition to this, both were rarely seeing each other. Bhanu had also knocked at the doors of the helpline alleging that her husband is ignoring her.  On Friday Mandi Police arrested Pasha and produced him before a court. He has been remanded to judicial custody.
