<p>Addressing a press meet on Wednesday, Varuna Mahesh, a contractor said the High Court order on ban on sand mining applies only to the gazette notification dated March 19, 2010. <br /><br />While, the tender notification for the Maranapura village was issued based on the gazette notification issued in 2000. <br /><br />“We are a group of contractors who invested on getting the tender for sand mining and invested about `2 crore. Our tender is due until next March. The administration should allow us for mining for next three months atleast. Otherwise, the contractors will suffer a huge loss,” he said. He criticised the administration for failing to check the illegal mining in the region. Everyday, not less than 200 sand lorries ply between T Narasipur and Mysore, to other places illegally, he said. <br /><br />H N Ramesh, Satish, Manjunath and others were present.</p>
