The film starts with a wedding and ends with another. In between, on-off-on (yawn) lovebirds Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone soak up some SRK fluff, fight on the phone, spend enough time behind the wheel to advertise a particular car, and finally fly to Australia to pursue separate goals.

While the lingo and attitude bring in an occasional spark, you really don’t care what the lead pair is up to most of the time. That leaves our Mr Perfect Imran super-glued to his headstrong girlfriend who wants to fly free. But her wings are clipped, thanks to actress-mom Sharmila Tagore (thy name is grace). Still, Deepika manages to stamp out of her home (in those sexy shorts that show off her toned, long legs).

Now, it’s namaste Australia. The script, which was limping all this while, switches to super slo-mo. Nothing much happens, except for a lovelorn Imran discovering his restaurateur skills with a modest ghar ka khana take-away. Meanwhile, Deepika masters the art of getting drunk on the beaches of Oz. Will the pair reunite? Well, that’s no sudoku puzzle. The jaded climax doesn’t help either, making Break Ke Baad a pedestrian fare.
