But the government should levy additional tax on such institutions.Speaking at a function organised to felicitate the Kannada Rajyotsava awardees of the district here, he said English should be used as a language and not as a medium of instruction.

In Karnataka, the medium of instruction has to be in Kannada as it was not possible to develop creativity than other other languages.

The government should announce that it would give jobs for those who have studied in Kannada medium schools.

The students studied in English medium are free to go abroad for jobs. “People who wish to stay in Karnataka should learn Kannada and develop the native culture”.

The former VC bemoaned that injustice has been meted out to Kannada than any other Indian languages.

More than becoming geographical united the State needs to be bound culturally. The government was releasing lot of money for the promotion of Kannada but the politicians have failed to solve basic problems. For the survival of Kannada, the government has to take suggestions from linguists, poets and writers, he added.

Prof Dejagow opined that only a handful of litterateurs cannot promote Kannada.
People from different fields such as medicine, engineering and scientists should write in Kannada about their fields. Then only it was possible for overall development of the language.

The Kannada culture is like a crown in Indian culture. This language is widely used in Vachana sahitya and dasa sahitya.
