Auto sales see robust growth in November

Maruti Suzuki sold total 1,12,554 vehicles in November 2010 as against 87,807 sold in November 2009, a growth of 28 per cent which included domestic sales of 1,02,503 units versus 76,359 units sold in November.

Tata Motors reported slight rise (1 per cent) in its sales of commercial and passenger vehicles to 54,622 numbers for November 2010 as against 54,108 vehicles in November 2009, while its exports for the month rose 5 per cent to 4,203 units from 3,994 units exported in November 2009.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported 18-per cent jump in its total sales — including Scorpio and Pick-Ups — in November at 26,666 units as compared to 22,589 units sold in corresponding month last year. Also, in the domestic market, it registered rise of 18 per cent at 25,166 units compared to 21,387 units in the year-ago period.

Hyundai Motors India (HMIL) saw total sales for November fall by 19.4 per cent at 44,542 units as against 55,241 units in the same month year ago. This was because exports dipped 52 per cent to 13,002 units from 27,079 units in November 2009.

General Motors (GM) India reported 18 per cent rise in its sales to 8,376 units in November this year as compared to 7,118 units in the same month last year.

Among two-wheelers, TVS Motor’s total sales for November rose 29 per cent to 157,041 units. Of this two-wheeler sales for the month stood at 153,882 units from 120,844 units a year ago. Yamaha Motor reported 23.2 per cent increase in its total sales in November at 30,310 bikes, while Suzuki reported 77 per cent growth at 25,439 units.
