Man kills estranged wife by placing explosive under pillow

H Ngunchhuma placed a gelatine stick under the pillow of his 45-year-old wife Lenpari when she was sleeping at the home of their eldest son yesterday, Aizawl district SP Lalbiakthanga Khiangte told PTI.

Due to the domestic violence inflicted on her by her husband, Lenpari left him and was staying with her son for the last two weeks, the SP said.The husband fled after the explosion, but was arrested later, he said.

Lenpari was rushed to the Civil Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery but died of her injuries, police said.
