Infosys to construct facility in WB in six months

"We are for creating employment opportunity in the state as well as in the region. We are not in any politics," CEO and MD Kris Gopalakrishnan said here today.

"The Infosys facility will come on over 50 acre it received from the West Bengal government to create employment opportunity for nearly 20,000 people," he said.

"The Chief Minister and Mr Das (IT Minister Debesh Das) is persistent enough to make this happen.

We have seen a lot of talent here involved with the IT sector and enough employment opportunity could be generated from the sector in the region," Gopalakrishnan said after a 30-minute meeting with Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Das.

"We need support from everybody here, as we have received in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune to make it happen for the benefit of young talent from this region," he said.
