Hearing a public interest petition questioning his appointment on the grounds of corruption, the apex court has issued notice to Thomas. Expressing his happiness over the Court's decision, Thomas said: “I am told that the Supreme Court has issued a notice. I am glad that the court has given me a chance.”
Speaking to reporters, he said all details will be given to the court. “This (reply to the notice) will be done in the form of a counter affidavit,” the CVC, who had been steadfast in his refusal to resign, said.
As the chief of anti-corruption watchdog got a reprieve, sources in the government said there was no question of his resignation at least till January 27, when the petition will come up for hearing.
