Talking to reporters after reviewing developmental works and visit to a temple at Bhookanakere village, he said steps are being taken to strengthen the Panchayat Raj Institutions by releasing sufficient funds for the works in rural areas. “No election is an acid test for the ruling party. I am optimistic that BJP candidates will win the maximum number of seats”.

Yeddyurappa denied impact of denotification scandal on the ZP/TP polls and said those issues are restricted to the capital politics. For villagers those were not at all the poll issues. Voters would teach a lesson to Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress leaders when they visit villages for the poll campaigning. On ‘injustice’ for backward classes while announcing the reservation for ZP/TP polls, the CM said there is no alternative left before the government except announcing the list of reservation.

The elections are being conducted as per the directions of the State Election Commission. The reservation cannot be altered according to demands of the opposition parties.

On Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde raising objections for the judicial inquiry into denotification scam, Yeddyurappa said that he has great respect for the Lokayukta and the Governor. “ I will not like to comment about their statements”.

To a query on the Cabinet reshuffle, he said it would be done only after ZP, TP elections.

CM Gaddi

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Monday claimed that no one can unseat him as long as he enjoyed the support of party legislators and blessings of the national leaders. “I will be CM for the remaining two and a half years period”.

He said the opposition was unleashing a false propaganda only to destabilise the government. “Let  God help them in their endeavour”, he said.

He lashed out at the opposition party leaders for not allowing him to discharge his duties. The voters would decide the next CM after the next Assembly polls, he noted.
