Addressing a meeting at the Zilla Panchayat here on Monday, Ramdas said: “The bill proposing the amendment will be tabled in the coming Assembly session. It seeks to make it compulsory for all MBBS graduates to work for two years and for postgraduate students, one year in rural areas before they could get the certificate of graduation.”
He said the government spends about Rs 10 lakh on each of the medical graduates passing out of the government medical colleges in the State. The department wants to ensure that the public money spent on a medical student is effectively utilised for the public cause. The department would chalk out guidelines for inviting tender for outsource the services of Group ‘D’ employees, Ramdas said.
