'Constitution provides equal rights to all'

She was speaking at the inauguration of a programme organised to mark Human Rights Day by the Human Rights Forum here on Friday.

She asked the District Legal Service Authority to take measures to improve awareness among people as many do not know many laws.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat District Unit President Udayaravi opined that such programmes should be conducted in rural areas also. Often, the cops violate the human rights, he noted.

M Krishna Law College lecturer and Human Rights Forum President Prof V Srinivasa said inequality exists in the society because of caste and other social evils. People should live in such a way that they don’t interfere in the life of others.
