<p>Habibulla, who was serving as police inspector in Hosadurga in 2007 was caught by Lokayukta while receiving a bribe of Rs one lakh from A Manohar, a lorry owner from Gangavati. <br /><br />The cop had even attempted to flee from the spot assaulting the Lokayukta staff. <br />The District Court has sentenced Habibulla to five years’ imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh under Prevention of Corruption Act.<br /> <br />Default in payment of fine attracts one more year of jail term. Habibulla is now working as inspector at Civic Rights Enforcement Directorate, Tumkur.<br /></p>
