Tasneef Begum (34), daughter of late Mohammed Habeeb is the victim. Though her divorce had come through only two months ago, she was living separately from her husband Mohammed Ghouse for many years now. Her throat had been slit open with a sharp weapon. Some of the jewels worn by the lady is found missing.

The incident came to light when her 11-year-old son Mohammed Saahil, the younger one, returned home around 4 pm, from the school.

He entered the house through the backdoor, as the front door was latched from inside.
Soon after seeing his mother’s body lying on the floor of the hall, Saahil informed his neighbour Nayaz who in turn informed the police control room.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and order) Basavaraj Malagathi told media, Tasneef had been living at the house along with her three children. Tasneef’s eldest son Mohammed Suhaib, 18, had moved out to live on his own, more than a year ago.
Since then, Suhaib had been visiting his mother often. Buzz is that, he was in touch with his father even though the couple had separated several years ago.

Tasneef was into money lending business and Suhaib was in dire need of money as he wanted to go to Mumbai, to try out a business venture

Another neighbour of Tasneef, Krishna who was a partner in money-lending business, said he had spoken with her over phone in the morning. Tasneef had told him that she was preparing breakfast for Suhaib, who had come to the house then.

According to Krishna, two finger rings and bangles worn by Tasneef are missing after the incident.

Following this, the needle of suspicion is on Suhaib. Adding credence to this, a boy claimed to have seen Suhaib walking out of the backdoor with another youth. A few years ago, the very house Tasneef has been murdered, belonged to her father. It had been sold for a hefty sum and Tasneef had leased the same house after she obtained a share of that amount from her siblings. Sniffer dog followed the scent to a distance.
ACP (K R Sub-division) N Vishnuvardhan, Inspector B S Srinivas, sub-inspector L Srinivas and others visited the spot. K R Police have registered a case and are investigating.

In conundrum

Though they had been deprived of fatherly love, mother had filled the void. Now, owing to fate, they have even lost their mother. This is the heart-rending story of three of the four children of Tasneef, who have been left orphaned after the incident.
Mohammed Shakeeb, 14 years and second son of Tasneef broke down when the cops summoned him. He was inconsolable for a while. A student of ninth standard at Akkana Balaga School nearby, he returned home late. His younger brother Saahil is studying in sixth standard at the same school, while sister Mahin studies in class eight at Sadvidya High School.
“He had come home yesterday also”, Shakeeb told Deccan Herald recalling the words of his mother in a choked voice, referring to his elder brother Suhaib.
